Ayr winner & yard news

Red Force One winning at Ayr under Kevin Stott, photo by John Grossick

After the disappointment of Auteil and Top Ville Ben pulling up (but back safely – ground a bit lively over that trip) we were delighted to get a good winner at Ayr yesterday courtesy of RED FORCE ONE under a super- cool ride from kevin Stott who continues to fire in the winners. ‘Fred’ as he is known at home really appreciated this fast ground and travelled supremely well against his 3 rivals. Kevin barely had to break sweat to ask him to quicken up and this was a win on the flat from his highest mark yet. He had run well at Aintree for 6th on watered ground and the main aim would be the valuable summer hurdle at Market Rasen, he’s made for a race like that.

He looked rightly proud of himself after the race, photo by Katie who led him up & drove him there & back.

I hadn’t posted Wemyss Points excellent win video at Pontefract on Phil’s birthday so here that is now, a race he won 3 years ago and very special to go in again for his Owners, The Green Oaks Partnership.

We have a quiet day today with no runners, time to introduce a new horse to the yard – one of four new ones that have recently arrived. More of the others tomorrow but this is LITTLE MISS MOO by Iktibas, a homebred mare for her local Owners, she is likely to start off for us at Catterick in early May.

We have quite a few entries in for later in the week, SEXY BEAST being one of them for The Good Looking Partnership & DUBH DES CHAMPS at Hexham for the Des Champs Partnership.

We are currently fully renewing the 6f gallop at Green Oaks, a massive task but it was ready for doing and luckily we have our excellent sand gallop to use while it’s being done. We are also taking the horses to a range of excellent local gallops & the beach. Yesterday Phil found this little guy on the gallop, followed by Simon finding 2 more. Despite our best efforts to locate the parents we had to admit defeat by the afternoon and they went to a local sanctuary – at least they will grow up to be healthy Canada Geese.

We are planing our first outdoor PKR Club morning for July 3rd, and look forward to welcoming new Owners to Green Oaks. We have a new intake for a 12 month term on June 1st, please visit our page for details.

It will be a morning of meeting the team, watching the new flat filly ‘Lottie’ on the gallops plus our other horses in training, a walk around the fields to see the youngstock, mares & foals and Molly the NH mare for the Club. We will be providing drinks & light refreshments and Owners in the club may bring a partner or friend with them. We hope it will be an enjoyable & insightful morning for all and will be praying for sunshine. Top Cat will be waiting to greet everyone!
