Saturday News

No runners today but we have 2 at the Ayr Scottish National meeting tomorrow – Hambleton Racing’s ‘Whoshotthesherrif’ in the Grade 2 Future Champions novice chase, and Show Promise in the conditional jockeys handicap hurdle for Joe Williamson. An exciting Sunday to look forward to and Sherrif only has 3 other rivals – but they aren’t exactly a tardy bunch! Allmankind heads the 4 on official ratings, and will be a hard horse to beat on this flat galloping track. Sheriff is really well and Sean has great faith in him, we’ll give it a very good go 🍀

We had decent efforts from ‘Burrows Seeside’ (2nd) and ‘Sexy Beast’ (3rd) both on their seasonal debuts at Newcastle on Thursday. The young War Command 3 year old ‘Smart Boyo’ also made a pleasing start to his career with a respectable effort in the maiden. He is a future Juvenile Hurdle prospect.

All in all, no winners but a good night at Newcastle nonetheless! It was good to see Nick Barratt- Atkin back in the saddle as a newly turned Amateur.
We are having a lot of fun with our PKR club horses and the response from new joiners is so pleasing. The Camelot filly is due to be named and everyone gets the chance to suggest names & vote for her racing name. She is coming on leaps & bounds and with daily updates videos & photos on the private Facebook page, we are told by many that they have never received information and updates like this anywhere before. We have two Club mornings pencilled in for July & September and look forward to welcoming everyone to the yard.
