Lincoln Saturday – and winner!

It’s Doncaster, the start of the flat, and SOUTH SEAS flies our flag in The Lincoln

Darren & Annaley Yates are due a serious change of luck after their BLAKLION was ruled out of the National yesterday with a hind joint problem, we couldn’t have been more gutted when the decision was made but are hoping that their Lope de Vega gelding SOUTH SEAS can give them a welcome boost and run a big race in The Lincoln this afternoon.  Jamie Spencer is booked and South Seas looks in great shape, he had these words to say a couple of days ago before he knew that all the hope would now be riding on him……

On a serious note though, he is off a workable  mark if he can recapture his best form, and our yard couldn’t be going into this big race in better shape with 8 winners in the last 2 weeks with a strike rate of 40% – it’s safe to say the horses are flying, let’s just hope that South Seas has read the script.

Phil leads yesterday’s winner SUGGESTION back in

Yesterday we had one runner at Wetherby, and going off a generous 5-1, Suggestion won in good style for Red Cap Racing under a top ride from Tommy Dowson. Video of him & Lady Kyria’s wins to follow. This was his third win of the campaign and he is an exciting novice chase prospect for next season. Suggestion is likely to run once more while he’s in this sort of form, flat left handed galloping tracks suit him so somewhere like Ayr and the Scottish National meeting could be perfect to round off what’s been a great Winter for him.

Racing Post Analysis…

This win also sealed the NH 2018/19 TRAINERS CHAMPIONSHIP at Wetherby for Phil & Team PKR, an achievement we are very proud of as we love to have winners at our local Grade 1 track.

If you have been looking to get involved with Ownership with us we have just updated our FOR SALE page with some interesting new races & unraced horses/ youngsters on there.

The previous day’s winner, Lady Kyria has returned fine and she managed to get a good photo in the Racing Post, always a nice surprise when you open it!

Suggestion & Tommy

It’s not just South Seas running at Doncaster  today, we also have the 4 year old Camelot gelding, STAPLEGROVE in the same Ownership – he ran too freely on his first AW start back and Apprentice jockey Gary Mahon will be hoping to settle him today and ride a race on him. He’s an attractive horse with a big personality and showed promise on his a couple of starts last year for John Gosden.
