Handicaps day… Platinum up 6lbs, fair enough. Not impressed with Brunello and Mysterious Wonder down just 1lb each, most frustrating.

Its very wet at Castleton and horses are coming in from the fields or being rugged up.. seems like the start of winter here.  We have just one runner tomorrow – Oratory at Carlisle, the race looks competitive but you have to start somewhere, this is his first run for us.

Here is a photo of 135 rated chaser, Agglestone Rock’s 3 year old half brother we have purchased – for sale to stay in the yard.  He is very like Aggie..like 2 peas in a pod (Agglestone Rock pictured below him)

The 3 year old also moves very well, in fact better than his older brother, here is a moving shot.

We would like to say congratulations to our new member of staff, Philip Dennis on his first flat winner the other day – a great start to his career, and he has settled in really well at Sharp Hill, Phil thinks he is a cracking good rider, just 17 years old – watch out for him- he is a young jockey going places.

Platinum has been getting some mega press coverage – a lovely piece and photo of him in both the Racing Post and Yorkshire Post following Saturdays win. he is wearing his big hooded rug and is out in the paddock, not bothered about the rain.

We have had a few of our old boys back to re-home this summer which is most frustrating…..i have another one back in the next few weeks and this really is a cracking good horse, returned through no fault of his own and I have two in our paddocks still waiting for new permanent homes.  If you know of anyone experienced  looking for a genuinely good hack who will jump, hunt and be a great all rounder, please send them our way.
