In tomorrows racing Post – Phil does’ The Monday Jury ‘ feature!
(Just downloading the ipad edition now!…wow, Phil does sound well informed!!!!!)
Platinum in the morning mist, enjoying his day in the field after his tremendous win at Haydock.
I do want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has texted and emailed in to us with their congratulations – we so appreciate all your goodwill, and it is so nice to hear how pleased everyone is that he ran so well. Special thanks also to the team back at home from me who work so hard with him and all the horses to keep them in tip top shape. I have enjoyed having Platinum at home today and have just nipped out to give him his extra supper!
He did get his lovely shiny coat very dirty but he really enjoyed rolling in the muddiest patch he could find! He seems very well after his run and will have a quiet week before a months preparation for the Caesarawitch. Both Phil and Russ feel he will have no problem staying the longer trip. and he must go there with a serious chance. It will be my first visit to Newmarket if all goes to plan.
Here are some videos of his win and Russ’s interview after the race.
Rather funny note – Emma Spencer has no idea that the bloke leading the horse in is actually the Trainer (ignores him) Made Phil smile afterwards!
Also one of him in the paddock today having a roll and a buck.
Next Edition ran an absolute blinder at York today in the last for Eva Moscrop and the Dibble Bridge Partnership. Its amazing how even when we think he is up against it he seems to pull a big run out the fire, and this was the second time he has filled the runner up spot at York – he has had a win, 2 seconds a a third from a handful of runs this summer, and he continues to run in good class handicaps, he would no doubt win over hurdles as well but Phil is always nervous about running this honest little horse over jumps as he is so small and not a complete natural despite winning at Bangor last backend. You would think that in this sort of form he could get another 1 next to his name before the end of the season. Phil was thrilled with this performance, he is one of his favourite horses as he is so utterly genuine.
New Horses: Phil has purchased a half brother (3yr old) and sister (yearling) to one of our top horses, 8 time winner and 135 rated chaser, Agglestone Rock. They look very similar to him – lets hope they have the same ability – and will be for sale, photos soon. His dam will also be joining our small broodmare band for owners Pete and Mick helm of Preesall Garage and she will vivit Aggie’s sire Josr Algarhoud in 2104.
Just a few entries between now and Friday – weekend entries tomorrow. new horse, Oratory and Money Team our potential runners.
