Victor is most definitely a proud owner this week after kicking it off on Monday with Robert Johnson’s win at Musselburgh. He ground them down to get his head in front just where it mattered with 17yr old apprentice Billy Loughane for a near length win. A top jockey choice – Billy is the clear leader in the Apprentice Championship and has clocked up 4 wins in the last 4 days and holds a promising book of 3 rides at Yarmouth today. Looking back to Sunday at Uttoxeter we had another impressive effort from Jeepydoff Meel. Admittedly well held by the Gordon Elliot hat-trick winning horse this time, but he jumped impeccably under Joe for 2nd and we think there is another win not far away with his form so far reading 212 since joining us. A lovely horse for new owners to the yard the Don’t Stop Us Now Partnership.

Todays runner is Parsons Meadow running at Haydock in a novice stakes. His form from his last run works out well, but he has what looks a tough ask today in competitive company under Andrew Mullen for owner Simon Silcock. Best of luck to him and all involved for a safe return.

Other News….

Phil & Pippa are currently over in France at the Arqana Sales and will no doubt return with a few extra four legged members of the team.

Pippa’s superstar coloured Monivea Black Magic aka Merlin continued to impress and yesterday took a trip to Scotland to take a 1st and CHAMPION at the Scottish Horse Show. He now has an impressive tick list to include Royal International Horse Show, London International Horse Show and HOYS. Not a bad CV! Well done to Pippa and the Lucy Glover team for all their work with him, but there are rumours that Indy plans to take over very soon!

PKR CLUB OPEN DAY

Saturday 22nd July

Our first open day for PKR Club members this summer is just a little over a fortnight away and there is still time for any of you wishing to come and see us at Green Oaks Farm to meet the team, horses and see what we are all about if you join the club beforehand!

The action will start from 10 am but you are welcome to arrive from around 8.30 if you wish and we will be parking in the field unless you need to be closer to the yard on concrete for healthy/mobility reasons. We will have refreshments and merchandise to purchase, and you are very welcome to bring the horses carrots, apples, polos, mints and any sort of horsey lick – a treats from a saddlers / feed merchants. We will be sending out a full email all about the club day in the next week to Club members, so you will have full details of the day and direction to get to us on that.

The unsung hero of the yard – Keith with Busby above. You don’t see much of him on here, but if he wasn’t here we would miss him sorely as he mucks out many of our horses daily along with helping with turn out, the walker horses and he sweeps the yard beautifully. All very important in keeping the yard ticking along smoothly every single day. Most definitely Mr Reliable is our Keith!

These are the amazing steps leading up to our racing tack room that Katie spent many hours painting a host of our owners colours onto. We think they look great and certainly give our stairs a uniqueness….
