Thurs 6th Oct…
Our runner today is Lady’s Present running at Worcester for her debut of the season. She is straight enough at home so we are hoping the burden of top weight wont be too much of a challenge for her today. Ridden by her usual jockey Tommy Dowson(at home & on track) we want to see her stay settled for a good start to her season for her owners The Team Kirby Partnership. Best of luck to all involved and of course a safe return home.
The weather definitely looks to have taken a turn as we head into the ‘proper jumps season’ and our winter team are coming to. Looking ahead to Wetherby next week we have the likes of Louis Vac Pouch, Niven and Whoshotthesheriff all possibles for the Bobby Renton chase. Exciting times ahead too for other equine residents of Green Oaks as Pippa and the Kirby girls head down to the NEC today for HOYS with Merlin, Piper and Alfie in pursuit of more trophies.
Also joining them at HOYS will be one of our ex racers Rich Man Poor Man for the ROR horse Show Final after his excellent season of ROR wins for owner Morean Hamilton and producer/rider Kirstine Douglas. Best of luck to them and the Kirby trio!!!
We recently added a post to our Facebook page asking for updates of our ex racers and we were glad to see many of you kindly obliging and sharing pics and info about them with us all. We will be sorting through and adding them to our ‘Lives after racing’ web page soon, so check back next week if you would like to take a walk down PKR memory lane!
