Wed 13th July…

A special week for the Kirby girls with lots of classes at the Great Yorkshire Show….

Yesterday Merlin took the title in his class with Pippa on board!! This beautiful homebred piebald stallion followed in the footsteps of his dam Chantilly Lace 17 years after her and Pippa had done. She gives thanks to Lucy Glover and her team for all their help with him as there is simply not enough hours in the day for him to fit in with Pippa’s many other jobs at home! A very special memory for Pippa to cherish….

‘Merlin’ & Pippa yesterday

Today they have veterans George & Brandy competing and 3yr old coloured Wizard. Then Thursday sees Freddie and Alfie doing the ridden Welsh classes. Good luck to all – results to follow!

A previous inmate of the Kirby yard Rich Man Poor Man has also been turning heads as the first ex racehorse to win a HOYS Hunter weight class at the GYS. Congrats to Moreen Hamilton and all connections involved with him, brilliant!!

Todays runner is 2yr old homebred Northern Chancer at Catterick for his first time out. Hopefully a nice into to racing with Dale Swift for this half brother to 2 winners. Best of luck to owners Ace Bloodstock.
