Wed 29th June…

We are making the most of the warm weather here with the longer days, it makes the struggle through the wind and rain of the winter a little more bearable! Tommy rounded up a team and headed over to Middleham last night for a friendly tournament of rounders with some of the local yards. They didn’t do badly, made it into the final and were just denied winners glory by Karl Burke’s team!

Lady Buttons

Also last night we had Lady Buttons making her debut in her first 80cm showjumping competition. She was very honest and did a great clear round, a lovely start to her new career and with a bit of practice will be perfect – just like when she was a racer!!!

No runners now until Caracristi on Friday night at Beverly. On Friday just gone we had a smashing run by Queenmambo at Chester, not looking so good on paper as 4th of 4, but with only 1 and a half lengths covering the field at the line it was pretty impressive for her 3rd run. On Saturday we saw Leopolds Rock get his head in front at Uttoxeter for a comfortable 5 and a half length win under Brian Hughes for Tor Side Racing.

Following this we had Red Force One winning at Musselburgh for The Yorkshire puddings with Ryan Sexton on Monday. Great to see after his very near miss at Ayr when beaten by a very frustratingly close short head.

‘Sophie’ our new Sholokov filly is doing very well and enjoying her early education n the lunge pen with Henry and Simon.
