Tuesday’s news & videos

No runners today so I am further updating from the past couple of weeks, here is a video enjoyed by over 350,000 on facebook to date…3 young National Hunt mares enjoying their freedom – Bateau Bay, Glamorous Icon & Hollie

2 weeks ago we headed to Aintree with hope of a safe jumping round rather than too much expectation with the ground going good to soft on the day following sustained sunshine and a windy week. We needed it softer to be at his best. Ben had schooled beautifully at Malton the week before, here was the full head cam video in case you missed it, it is certainly worth watching again.

Ben jumped so well which was a massive relief & was still in contention up to Bechers second time but Tommy wisely pulling him up to out when his chance had gone. He’s had a great season and is now ready for his summer in the field. Here are some of our favourite photos from the big day. It was a memorable family occasion also shared with good friends, and many of you will have seen Tracey ( Tommy’s Mum) being interviewed live on ITV in the pre- parade ring. When Tracy confessed that she was an admirer of Luke, and had her photo taken with him, she didn’t expect he would be coming over with his microphone just five minutes later!

A lovely video of The First Steps new colt ’Teddy ” with Helen Wood’s filly ’Hetty’ in the background . we have 4 shares available in him – he is by the top class stallion & racehorse, Coolmore’s ORDER OF ST GEORGE out of LADY BUTTONS half sister. £500 buys your share. Pls email pippakirby@icloud.com if interested – Voting will start soon for his racing name and all Owners in the partnership get the chance to suggest and vote.

Phil swopped roles a couple of weeks ago and led our homebred coloured stallion ‘Merlin’at the CHAPS grading. This was passed successfully & he is now a registered stallion. Izzy did an excellent job at the ridden part. He will be contesting his first shows under saddle this year.

And now a belated yard round up photo update

Our homebred Milan x Helen Wood 3 year old ( Harry) looking fantastic. He heads to the Goffs May Store Sale but we’d love him to train
