Whoshotthesherrif at Haydock yesterday

It was nearly a very big day for Whoshotthesherrif and Hambleton Racing at Haydock yesterday but he had to give best in the shadow of the post to the well backed favourite – after running a superb race from the front for Sean.

The Racing Post commented..

Most notable throughout the race was what a fantastic looking racehorse Sherif was with a great stride and jumping technique – he is going to make the most exciting novice chaser for next season and we count ourselves lucky to have him.

What a superb afternoon of racing it was though – CYRNAME eclipsing the mighty ALTIOR at Ascot and LOSTINTRANSLATION getting the better of the bold jumping grey, BRISTOL DE MAI at Haydock – two of the jumping highlights of the season for certain and neither horse lost much in defeat, they all ran their hearts out just like Sherrif did in his race.

No runners today, it’s a very different afternoon for us with both our girls competing in the Hartlepool Open Gymnastics competition – makes a change from rain, horses & mucking out!  We were on the yard this morning of course and welcomed new Owners to see Spanish Buttons & Winfola. The partnerships have both sold out very quickly and we’ve been overwhelmed with the response.

We have just the one runner tomorrow – Iconic Belle steps up 3 furlongs in trip and heads to Musselburgh in order to find some better ground. She has won round here and is going nicely at home although the handicapper has been harsh on her, she has crept up the ratings for her placed efforts since winning last term. Hoping tomorrow she can get back on the winning trail.,
