A pillar to post win for DESARAY GIRL and Tommy yesterday at Newcastle

Resdev Ltd look to have a lovely mares jumping prospect on their hands given the eye catching way their DESARAY GIRL travelled in the Mares Maiden at Newcastle yesterday – jumping fluently in her first hurdling start and repelling all challengers up the long home straight. This was an exciting performance on her hurdling debut and a well judged front running ride from Tommy who then quickly followed up with a double on Charlie Snow Angel for Sandy Forster.

Desaray Girl is only 4 but stayed this 2m 4f readily and they way she jumped suggests she will make into a good Mares Chaser in time as well.

Resdev Ltd have had many flat winners but this was their first over jumps – and she  was led up by Sam Moat who was leading up his first winner; Newcastle couldn’t have been a better place for him to do it as well given that this is where he is from. A memorable day for everyone involved!

We also ran ‘Bertie Blake’ in the Novice Chase. Bertie didn’t really travel on the ground but he jumped safely and finished the race, he is now eligible for all handicap chases which will help in placing him to the best advantage for his Owners.

Today we return to our favourite track, Wetherby with a pair of long term PKR horses, Sakhee’s City & Zig Zag. Sakhee ran an excellent race on his seasonal reappearance for 2nd here, and he’ll be bidding to go one better this afternoon for Owners Keith & Jayne & jockey Adam Nicol  in the 1.40 race.

Zig Zag also likes it round here but he’s a big price, suggesting the handicapper may still have him in his grip following his runaway win at Cartmel in heavy ground. He ran a satisfactory race on his comeback and will be doing his best again this afternoon in the hands of Tommy.

Zig Zag doesn’t mind this ground!

Its desperately wet AGAIN this morning at Green Oaks – a real challenge for our team to keep getting so wet and managing the horses legs which aren’t designed to get so saturated and dirty everyday. Some photos from the last couple of days…
