First time chasing for Bertie Blake

Umbrellas at the ready… it has done nothing but pour down all night in the North East, we’re saturated but racing goes ahead! Bertie Blake will be in the pre-parade ring shortly, being led up by Victor who rides him every day at home. Tommy has been doing plenty of schooling on him –  there’s no getting away from the fact that he’d prefer a sounder surface…. but this should be a nice introduction on fresh ground raced on for the new NH season, first and foremost we will be looking for a safe clear round. Best of luck to his Owners, The Kirby Club Pship.

Smile please Bertie!

Tommy’s unique schooling video… did his phone survive!

Bertie is quickly followed by the 4 yr old grey mare ‘Desaray Girl’ for Owners Resdev Ltd. she is having her first start over hurdles following a couple of bumper runs and she has also been doing plenty of schooling at home ahead of this jumping debut. There are a couple of short priced ones in the race but not a lot of strength in depth, we would expect her to show some promise.

Yesterday’s sole runner ‘Nicely Indeed’ managed to unship Tommy at Sedgefield but finished delighted with his ears pricked in third, unfortunately riderless. They were going well  at the time although there was still a fair way to go… always another day and no harm done.

Phil is at the sales today at Cheltenham and we are looking forward to bringing news of any purchases…we are still looking for that new P’ship horse that is ready to run.
