Happy Birthday Phil

ALSVINDER

It wasn’t quite the Good Friday at Lingfield  we had hoped for a few weeks ago when Stargazer won at Newcastle. Unfortunately he has developed a leg issue and it may be next season before we see him again. A cruel blow to us all as we were so excited for this year with him, not least Phil & myself.

We were represented at the All Weather Championship Day though, ALSVINDER lined up for the 6f sprint for his new Owners. He was drawn widest and was unfortunately slowly away, not figuring in the placings at the important end but is on his way back with Julie and a Best Turned Out win to his name 👏👏

🎉 Phil turns 40 🎈

Phil stayed at home for a quiet afternoon following a usual work morning and everyone enjoyed chips from the fish shop at lunchtime plus a slice of a fantastic cake baked by Meg… an interesting choice of cake subject and popular with lots of our staff!

We have had a few busy days with runners at Exeter, Southwell  & the 2 day Cheltenham meeting . Faring best with a career high performance was ‘Little Bruce’ on Wednesday – 2nd in a hot 3m 1f Novice Chase, and putting in yet another superb round of jumping for Tommy despite his small stature. Jumping the last in front he was just run out of it on the climb to the line but finished his season on a high with plenty to look forward to for next year and possibly a tilt at the Cross Country Chase at the November meeting. He and Tommy have struck a great partnership and they regularly go jumping the hunt jumps round the farm.

We have enjoyed beautiful warm sunshine at the yard for the last two days… here are some photos of the horses enjoying their freedom.
