Wednesday’s News – and winner!

Superstar STARGAZER wins again at Newcastle under a patient ride from top jockey, Robert Winston.

Phil and I are so proud of our brilliant STARGAZER whom we are lucky enough to own with The Hassall family – to watch him win again on Monday in such exciting fashion in another high class handicap really sets him up for the year. Watch the race and post race discussion below:

His next target is now the Fast Track Championship at Lingfield over Easter, but what excites us most of all is a return to his favourite Newcastle for a tilt at The Northumberland Plate. He could be one for the Ebor at York later in the season, and he really is a brilliant horse to own, even better Phil picked him up for just £8000 at Tattersalls in October 2017, everyone loves a bargain 🐎 Sammi who rides him at home led him up here and she is also looking forward to her trip to Lingfield.

It’s not beyond the realms of possibility that he could be a Melbourne Cup contender, something to consider for the future.

Lady B & Tommy

Yesterday saw ‘Lady Buttons’ school over fences for the first time with Tommy ahead of a tilt at The Red  Rum Chase at Aintree tomorrow, the 4.40 in which a massive field of 18 are declared over the 2 mile trip, it will be fast and furious.

Chasing again for Lady B

She went up three times and all went to plan.

Today we have three runners – Ice Galley & Lord Rococco at Market Rasen & The Resdev Way at his favourite Southwell. A prolific scorer for us last year, ‘Resdev’, as we call him at home, went for a lunge in the sand pen yesterday with Jennie to keep him fresh for today, however he had other ideas and  promptly got down for a good long roll before he would concentrate on doing some work. He was absolutely covered in sand! Best of luck to his Owners, Resdev Ltd on his seasonal reappearance , and we look forward to what we hope will be another winning year with him🐎

Of our two at Market Rasen we would like to think they both had sound each way chances. Ice Galley put in a career best performance there last week in a Conditional’s race and therefore gets in here unpenalised.  At the bottom of the weights, Sean takes the ride this time and Tommy jumps on board Lord Rococco in the last.

Lord Rococco

He showed promise on his first bumper start for us and he looks a big price in the last, we would hope he could build on his 3 year old performances, he is the first offspring of winning mare, Lady Chloe, who delighted us producing a colt foal to Milan yesterday. Helen Wood has also safely delivered a Milan colt so just Lady Westerner of the Jumping Mares to foal now. She heads to France on Tuesday to visit BUCKS BOUM. Awaiting photos of the foals which we will post as soon as we have them!
