Saturday’s News

Little Bruce winning at Hexham

Despite a crunching fall at Haydock, the tough Little Bruce is bouncing again and he is running in the 3m novice Chase at Wetherby today alongside stablemate, Skipthescales. Both horses are really fit and well and it’s unfortunate they have to meet but there is a real shortage of staying novice handicaps at present. Unfortunately Bruce went up a further 5lbs just for standing in his box last week so he finds himself top weight here today, not easy for a small horse – Nathan Moscrop takes off a crucial 5lbs and Adam rides Skip. Wishing both sets of Owners the very best of luck 🍀

Skipthescales

Ice Galley is our first runner of the day, he starts proceedings at 12.05, and while he did win on the flat this year he has obviously not hit the heights we wished for. Jumping is a different ball game however and watching him school, I think we’ll see him take to the Winter job, he looks to really enjoy it. Being a novice this won’t be easy and he is priced accordingly at 28-1.

Stablemate Sakhee’s City who also runs in the purple & white of Keith& Jayne Sivills, has been waiting for some proper jumping ground and he is our final runner at Wetherby in the 2.15 handicap hurdle over 2 miles. ‘Sam’ is more than capable on his day and should run a decent race in this slightly lower grade this afternoon.

We’ve a break between the jumping and flat action, and last time out winner MAN OF VERVE is back to try for a double tonight in the 8.45 at Wolverhampton. He is our shortest priced runner of the day and must have a great chance of doubling up, he needs a strongly run race to perform to his best ability, so we’ll hope there’s plenty of pace on.

Yesterdays novice hurdle duo Magic Dragon & Pullman Brown returned safely from Sedgefield, they both need novice handicaps to be effective in the future and a sensible mark is required.

We like this piece spotted in the paper earlier in the week….our stats are certainly looking good and Phil is high up the list of NH Trainers this Winter

A nice little piece!

Lady Buttons went up 9lbs to a career high 149 over fences for her Newbury win, next stop all being well will be Weatherbys Castleford Chase on the 27th December and we run Top Ville Ben & Dubh Des Champs on the same card so a lot to look forward to.

And finally we are excited to announce the 2 new quality Chasing arrivals this week, NIVEN and OAK VINTAGE 🐎 both winning chasers this season – hopefully more of the same for us. Photos to follow!
