Our mares and foals enjoying the sunshine

Apologies for the lack of an update the last couple of days, my iphone has temporarily died so anyone trying to get hold of me (Pippa)  it should hopefully be fixed by tomorrow!

Its been a quiet week with a distinct lack of memorable moments, so we’ll look ahead instead and hope we are back in the winners this coming week! Tomorrow can’t come early enough for Phil either with his right hand man, Simon, back to work after a well earned week away with wife, Sarah and baby Jack.

We have Richard Strauss and Kilcoran tomorrow at our local track, Catterick. Andrew Mullen rides them both in different divisions, and the more fancied of the pair would certainly be Richard Strauss who has been 2nd and 3rd on his two latest starts and deserves to get his head in front. Kilcoran is a flashy chestnut mare who has joned us from Ireland, and this will be a fact finding mission tomorrow, she is rated 55 and priced around the 10-1 mark.

No runners today but a busy morning riding nonetheless, and we had Jockeys Adam Nicol, Tommy Dowson and Nathan Moscrop all riding out the weeks runners plus our other hardworking team.  Stargazer looked in good order, and later Phil took Lady Buttons for a ride out with our daughters on their ponies. Its a huge week for Izzy who has just turned 13, she rides her pony at the Horse of the Year Show at the NEC on Thursday morning. On Wednesday its the coveted ‘Racehorse to Riding Horse’ showing final and Clare Poole has our former chaser, KING’S GREY qualified – those interested to watch this class it will likely be on the live HOYS stream which can be found on the internet. Also in there is one of our former members of staff, Sophie Staveley with another big grey horse, Mighty Yar. There are only about 12 places in this class, and its hotly contested by professionals and amateurs throughout the summer show season.
