Sunday 2nd September
Friday saw the final day of work for top team member, Issey Gill who leaves to train in Midwifery and we wish her the very best in her new career. Issey has been a pleasure to employ from day 1 and is never without a smile even when getting bucked off or on a wet January morning!
We will all miss her and Monday sees a team leaving dinner evening out to send her off properly. Joining Issey on the send off dinner and on a new venture will be Megan Dent who has an exciting Trainee Secretary position at Mark Johnston’s – Megan has just completed her GCSE’s and is very much looking forward to this opportunity – she has done sterling work on our social media side the last couple of years and has also worked going racing when studies allowed, her favourite horse being Nautical Nitwit who she led up to win last week. Good luck Meg!
There was no repeat of Good Time Ahead’s win At Chester yesterday but although unplaced he was not beaten far and was squeezed up at a crucial part of the race. There will be easier assignments for him and he can win again soon.
No runners today and Phil is having a day off to come with us to Burghley Horse Trials where our youngest daughter Indy is riding in the Sports Pony Lead Rein Jumping final. Although well ‘off the lead’ it’s officially the last time she can do it in the Show ring and hopefully her pony Freddie will give her a good round today while I run round being boiling in a tweed outfit in 23 degrees!
Big sister Izzy is just watching today, she had a fantastic week at the National Showing Champs last week with three wins with her Welsh pony, Ginge.
Saturday was busy as always and we got some good photos and videos in the sunshine – film to follow this eve but for now some images of our team and the horses…
Other News…. Phil & John’s many times winning racing greyhound ‘Izzyindy’ ( Blue) has been retired to live at John & Nadine’s with his other two greyhounds – we think he’s going to have a nice life!
The ten new stables are going up swiftly….won’t be long before Phil fills these with ten handsome heads looking out!
Yesterday saw four of our youngest staff members moving into the new PKR on site house, just by the ‘lama field’ for those of you who know our set up. It’s a fantastic 4 bedroom home and it’s that nice we all want to move in!
