Thursday’s News – and winner!

Winner! Pumaflor wins in good style for Andrew Mullen at Pontefract yesterday – we couldn’t be happier for his Owners ‘Resdev’ who sent us three horses last year and we now just need a win from Sincereley Resdev to get all 3 on the board – The Resdev Way has won for us several times.  Clearly the horses are coming into form now, and Pumaflor has been running much better of late – this was a competitive handicap and they went a decent end to end gallop which really suited him.

Today we have New Britain at Newcastle who is still learning his job and will have to settle to peform to the best of his ability but he showed improvement last time and in a race without much strength in depth you would like to think he is open to further progress. He is Owned by a small Partnership and we wish them all the best of luck with their 3 year old this afternoon. It’s anapprentice race and we have Mark Johnstons capable apprentice on board.

Katie & New Britain

It was Goffs Donny Sales yesterday and Rock of Leon found found a new home to go pointing – we are sure he will love this new life and is going to be doing plenty of Hunting. He’s been a good fun horse for us and Nathan Moscrop who has enjoyed two wins on him. We really managed to turn this quirky customer around who came to us with a string of recent unseateds to his name and he had perfected the art of dropping his shoulder and losing his jockey after a hurdle! We will miss this big character, particularly Jodie who looked after him and rode him at home – he was her first winning lead up at the races and he was a really handsome lad. We’ll follow his progress on the Point circuit with interest and wish new connections the best of luck with him.
