Saturday 24th July

A glorious morning at Green Oaks, Sincereley Resdev in the foreground

The Sun is shining and it’s already third lot out by 8.15 to combat the heat.some of them pictured below.

After a quiet week we have three runners today – Campion (4.55) at Chester & New Britain (8pm) & Pumaflor (8.30) at Hamilton. The filly has a poor draw to overcome and it’s safe to say a poor draw round Chester is a serious disadvantage but she is ready for a run and  we will see how she handles this unique track.

Campion our runner at Chester this afternoon

New Britain is coming off a short summer break and Phil has stepped him up in trip, he’s matured for a few weeks off and looks in good order. Pumaflor is off an attractive mark but needs to come back to form, like some of our runners he just hasn’t been firing and it’s safe to say it’s pretty frustrating but they will come through it!

Tomorrow we have Cleofe in the bumper at Southwell and Rock of Leon in the handicap hurdle.

A daughter of Shirocco, Cleofe is looking well here pictured with Issey, Phil feels she is strengthening up and is hoping for an improved effort.

It’s that time of year when some of our winter jumpers are already coming in – Lady Buttons is already back in, Dares to Dream and Shine Baby Shine have joined her. Buttons is likely to have the October Grade 1 Mares Hurdle at Wetherby as an early target so she needs to start her build up in plenty of time.

The new Resdev mare is coming on well – Iridescent Resdev, ridden away and enjoying her work.

The good looking ‘Improved’ – Prince, he’ll be back running soon.

The ground is too firm to school the horses on at the moment but Phil and Simon thought they’d put themselves through a bit of practice last night….
