Sunday News & winner!

A lovely win from Rayna’s World at Leicester

It was a very taking performance from Rayna’s World yesterday as she took on some smart colts over 1m 2f and won in gritty fashion for Jimmy Quinn, she was certainly an excellent purchase by Phil & John Hanson’s Ace Bloodstock from Tatts as a yearling in 2016 a  step up to Listed Class is on the cards for her when the right race comes along. Part Owner ‘Rayna’ was there to watch her filly win, and it was a memorable day for her and husband Steve, whereas her other part Owner John Hanson watched from a beach in Portinatx, Ibiza! We were rather jealous of him as it’s been a particularly cold weekend!

Kilcullen Flem in the paddock at Punchestown

Over at Punchestown we shouted home Kilcullen Flem who was right up there in 2nd all the way but just got tapped for a bit of toe and ended up an honourable 4th in the big handicap Chase over 3m 6f. This was a top effort on ground livelier than ideal for him and if we get a bit more rain he could be be back for another shot at the race next year all being well. He earned some good prizemoney and his Owners had an excellent trip over with first class hospitality from Horse Racing Ireland who provide a superb private box for Overseas Owners to dine and watch their runners. Phil’s Dad represented him yesterday at the track, and also thoroughly enjoyed his day in the ‘Ballymana Suite’. Flem and Eastview Boy were taken & looked after for the trip by our Travelling Head Girl Julie and new young Member of staff, Jodie, and as always they were immaculate in the paddock and a credit to the yard.

Back into 4th spot for Flem

Julie with Flem’s Owners

Our other runners yesterday were back safe & sound – the ground proving too soft for Pumaflor & Man of Verve, and Pullman Brown still looks high in the handicap. Today it’s the turn of Mr Carbonator & Sincereley Resdev over 1m 6f at Wetherby and it’s a major step up in trip for both of them. Good luck to connections 🍀
