Wednesday News – and video

The video below features a horse declared at Wetherby tomorrow –  Aniknam – plus a lot of other names you will recognise – winter horses and some for the months ahead of who are yet to appear in 2018… it was such a beautiful morning on Monday we had to be out with the camera for a couple of lots-

Plans are still fluid ahead of Lady Buttons next intended appearance – with Ayr, Aintee or the Cheltenham Mares only meeting  being the options. There was exciting news earlier in the week to read that  Footpad and Petit Mouchouir were heading to Fairyhouuse leaving the Doom Bar Novices Chase at Aintree a more open affair – but this News was revoked yesterday with Footpad being rerouted to Aintree! Not what you want to read in the Racing Post headlines whilst drinking your cup of coffee at breakfast! She is in terrific form however and we can’t wait to get her back on the racecourse.

Buttons & Adam

Tomorrow we have five declared for Wetherby and it looks a great opportunity for Rock of Leon to get off the mark for us in the seller, it hasn’t turned out the most competitive of races and he’s clear second favourite in the betting. We also run our own Teki  blue de l’orme who found life in a novice hard work last time so drops to this lower class on his second start for us. He is not yet qualified for novice handicaps. More of our other runners to be previewed by Sarah in tomorrows  update.

FOALING NEWS!

Lady Chloe has produced a bay filly to the Sunnyhill  stallion, Doyen. No photos yet from Grange Stud but believe all to be well and she is again meant to look like her dam – that means plenty of white! She has proved a super mother so far and all her foals are correct and good movers.

Ace Bloodstock’s mare ‘Skid’ who was bought in foal last Autumn has also had a filly foal by the stallion Burratino

This week has seen a new arrival – a Mount Nelson 3 year old from Geoff & Sandra Turnbull’s ‘Elwick Stud’ – a very good sort who Tommy has been riding the last couple of days and he looks a lovely  prospect.
