Wed 10th Jan…

Its a fairly miserable morning here at Green Oaks weather-wise, it hasn’t stopped raining all morning! No runners today, but we have 5 lined up for tomorrow at local tracks Catterick & Newcastle.

Shine Baby Shine goes for her second juvenile run at Catterick with Tommy Dowson on board following her win on the AW last time out at Southwell. Joining her at Catterick is Allmyown and Minstrel Royal. At Newcastle we have The Resdev Way switching back to the flat and up to 2m with PJ McDonald on board, and Mangata is trying Newcastle after not looking to enjoy the surface at Southwell for his last run. Good luck to all connections and come home safe!

Dan the dentist doing his magic

We have had Dan Astle-Carter our dentist in for the past few days working on the residents needing an MOT in the teeth department. The horses teeth play a huge part in their success, with bad maintenance leading to not eating properly and not getting the goodness out of the food they eat which can obviously lead to not keeping their weight on and lacking the immense energy needed to perform. Also, bad teeth can have a detrimental effect on the horses exercise as it can lead to discomfort in the mouth. Its an important part of their routine.

Last week Phil did a Q&A interview for the Racing Post. We think he was after brownie points from the wife and kids for one of the answers!! For those of you who didn’t see it, here it is….
