Sat 30th Dec…

It snowed a little again here at Green Oaks overnight, but nothing major and exercise continues as normal….

Todays runner is Top Ville Ben who heads off to Haydock for his owners The Harbour Rose Partnership. Up in trip to 2m7 which shouldn’t be a problem for him, he won a 3m PTP over in Ireland first time out and has staying power in his pedigree. His dam’s sire was Simply Great – the sire of our Durham National winner Simply Smashing who was a die-hard out and out stayer. Top Ville just needs to keep a lid on his tendency to run with full throttle, although he does seem to be improving and his close 2nd last time out at Doncaster was a great effort. Best of luck to him with Adam Nicol on board again – avoid those white rails & come home safe!

It was a long couple of days for Lady Buttons who came a gallant 4th over at Leopardstown yesterday up against the Irish mares, she didn’t quite see out the 2m4 trip but she gave her all as usual and Leopardstown track seemed to suit her much better than the ups and downs of Punchestown. Happy to be back home safe and sound in her box munching her hay…
