Our Boxing Day Five

We hope santa has been kind to you all!

horse wrapped up for xmas

Its back to business today after the brief pause for Christmas yesterday with 5 running at one of our favourite tracks Wetherby.

Bertie with Santa

Bertie with Santa!

First to go we have Bertie Blake and Nemeon Lion in the novice h’cap hurdle at 1:05. Bertie showed good improvement in his run last time out, but still needs to get a little more competent in his jumping and will hopefully find his feet now in handicap company. He has Tommy Dowson on board for his Kirby Club Partnership owners. Nemeon will much prefer the ground he will get at Wetherby today for owners The Well Oiled Partnership with Adam Nicol riding. Phil has previously twice won this race in ’14 and ’16, so a third would be great!

Next to run are Little Bruce and Nicely Indeed in the 2:45 hurdle. We have gone for the cheek pieces for the first time on Bruce to see if we can squeeze out that little extra. He improved on his last run here and also won here at last years Boxing Day meeting, so hopefully he is in fine form for a good run today in the hands of Tommy Dowson for The GPS Partnership.

Nicely Indeed is also in great form at home and will be wearing a hood for the first time today. He can get quite anxious in the run up to his race and the hood will hopefully help to keep him calmer and save his energy for the later stages out on track. Adam Nicol is on board again for his Ownaracehorse Partnership.

NICELY INDEED

Last but not least we have Asum in the last at 3:20 in the 2m hurdle. This is his first run since joining us and he seems to have enjoyed his change of scenery since coming to Green Oaks. We hope he can make a good account of himself with Adam Nicol on board for his new owners Bill Fraser & Adrian Pritchard.

Good luck to all runners, riders & owners today, lets hope we can get a winner or two out of our Boxing Day team – but as always, a safe return home is foremost.
