Tuesday 10th October & video

Good Time Ahead & Henry

Two runners today – ‘The Resdev Way’ in the 4.40 at Catterick, and ‘Good Time Ahead’ in the 5.55 at Newcastle on the All weather. Both are competitive handicaps, but they’re fit and well and have each way chances. Resdev is a lovely looking horse, his best form so far is on the AW but he has a split handicap mark so hopefully he can make use of the lower turf mark today. Good Time Ahead is part owned by Colin Fletcher, one of our Original first Owners, and he has just called in on his way to the track – it would be great for his Owners John, Alan & Colin to get a win there this afternoon. Alan has had a host of 2nds with us so far! Julie  has headed up the A1 to Newcastle, Phil has gone to Catterick after his long drive to Newmarket and back last night.

This is a short video taken on Saturday of the young novices schooling. First timers over the hurdles are Hangard & Northern Girl. Owners in the Topspec Partnership need not worry – her official schooling breakfast morning is this coming Saturday with Owners of Bertie Blake. This was a practise for her….and it went very smoothly, she is a natural jumper as is the big 6 year old ‘Hangard’. Mangata and Wemyss jumped fine, Wemyss a bit sticky to start with but after a roust up from Tommy he jumped well 3rd time.

We weaned the foals yesterday afternoon, and after a lot of whinnying the mares have all finally acepted it. The foals themselves weren’t too bothered, they are all living qute happily in the barn – fillies one side, colts the other.
