Its less thank a month to our Open Day on Sunday August 7th and plans are well underway to make it an enjoyable day for all at our new base here at Green Oaks. It will still be ‘work in progress’ but those of you who can come will be able to see what an exciting new yard we have and the wonderful facilities that go with it. We are delighted that well known journalist

& Racing UK presenter Niall Hannity is going to be on

ahead to our winter team as we start bringing the jumpers back into work from the beginning of August.  Amonst these horses will be: Established staying handicap chaser, 5 x winning ‘Courtown Oscar’ , Exciting novice handicap chaser, ‘Transient Bay’ , ‘Crystal Trophy’ winner, Goldan Jess, & Aintree bumper runner up ‘Lady Buttons’, three young horses that we hope can continue to build on their already promising careers plus we think our best team of young bumper horses yet – spearheaded by the 3 year old ‘Bertie Blake’ by Beneficial who we still have a small number of shares remaining in.

The 'Green oOks Gold Cup' will be good fun for all to watch.

The ‘Green Oaks Gold Cup’ will be good fun for all to watch.

We are also pleased to bring some light entertainment in the shape of ‘The Green Oaks Gold Cup ‘ – a shetland race in which our own daughter Izzy is looking forward to competing in! Nothing serious but some good fun local competition and we are sure any chldren attending will love to watch and meet the ponies beforehand.

We will look forward to welcoming everyone from 10.30 am and all our team will be having an early start and working the Sunday  to make sure we can show off our horses to their best advantage as they parade for everyone. We will also enjoy showing you our foals and youngstock – we have four foals at the yard and six mares in foal for next year.
