Factor Fifty looking down the fields at Green Oaks

Factor Fifty looking down the fields at Green Oaks last Friday, the new long uphill gallop on the left which was completed on Sunday – the first horses were up it yesterday.

Not another 2nd!!!! Oh yes, it was into the winners enclosure again yesterday but not for the no. 1 spot as Rocky Two who has been waiting for this race all summer had to give best to the Paul Nicholls horse who won easily dropped in grade for the first time. He ran a good race  and take the Nicholls horse out (who made £14,000 at the subsequent auction) he would have won in good style! It was decent prize money though and he won over £1000 for finishing 2nd. Our next chances come on Wednesday, Thursday and into the weekend with Archiposs at Hamilton looking an eye catching entry  having his second start after a good debut 3rd at Ayr last month.

This is Bold Henmie with Kelly – the pink bales also making a very handy mounting block! Henmie is entered at Uttoxeter on Wednesday, he has knocked on the door this season over hurdles.

We have had a busy couple of weeks re-homing some of our  horses who are looking for new careers – and have recently found excellent homes for King’s Grey, Moscow Presents (going pointing) Full Speed, Agglestone Rock  and Lexington Bay – and possibly also today ‘Pass Muster’ who sustained a minor tendon injury at Musselburgh and won’t be up to to racing again in a years time now he is 9 years old. King’s Grey and Moscow have already gone, but the other boys will be going to their new homes shortly.

One success story we are pleased with is the lovely home that former winner,  Stormy Morning has now – pictured below.

We have lots of young horses to bring in, and its an exciting time with the unraced 3 and 4 year olds getting going and learning how to canter on the gallop. Tomorrow sees ‘Rococco’ coming back from France – the Lady Chloe x Shirocco yearling who has stayed in France since his birth to qualify for the French owners premiums. We hope to return to France with him as a 3 year old on the flat to win some of their prize money and the excellent 48% bonus that goes with qualified French bred winners.
