‘Oh so close’ for Ross Turner and The Dibble Bridge Partnership’s ‘Next Edition’ at Wolverhampton yesterday.eddie photo

It was a really exciting race at Wolverhampton for Eddie and his Owners yeaterday, and he went down fighting,  beaten just a head in a thrilling three way finish. Ross, claiming 7lb on his first apprentice ride clearly held his own against the top jocks and gave Eddie a peach of a ride coming with a well timed challenge in the last 2 furlongs to just be denied his elusive first win. We are hoping its second time lucky on him as there is another race back here a week on Monday he will be given an entry in. Earlier on the card, ‘Mac Tiernan’ travelled nicely for Julie before getting tired in the straight, he clearly still has enthusiasm, he may just need a bit more help from the handicapper.

imageToday we had two runners in the same juvenile race at Catterick , the debutante ‘Hugh’s Secret’, and the second time over hurdles, ‘Keep Up’. The former was pulled up but came back safely, but Keep Up left a good impression as he stayed on nicely into fourth and jumped very well for a juvenile. It was great to see him finish well after having the screens around  him last time out at Wetherby when he had a  tired fall. We are also pleased he seemed to like it round Catterick as its going to be just up the road! It was just like watching Andorn jump round there when he won for James Reveley when we didn’t quite expect it! Keep Up is the absolute double of Andorn and there is no doubt why Phil came home with him from the sales. 50% of him (or 2x 25% ) is for sale and he is going to be winning races judged on this effort.
