Monday 29th June
A glorious sunny day and more of the same tomorrow! Phil is pictured left on ‘Call it On’ , on the phone as usual. We have lots of amusing nicknames on the yard, and I am sure many of you will smile whe you hear that Phil is not known as ‘Boss’ or ‘Guvnor’ but KIRBDOG. Whoever thought that one up?! We also have Stumpy and Huggy…I won’t reveal who they are yet…..
No runners until later in the week but entries made at Market Rasen and Ayr today, and tomorrow sees us taking two bumper horses for a gallop at Southwell.
We are looking forward to seeing this lad back in action – Next Edition owned by the Dibble Bridge Partnership. It won’t be too long before he is back racing again and giving his owners plenty of excitement. One or two shares in him remain, see our FOR SALE page.
Its a much quieter life at the home yard, Dibble Bridge, although our huge cockeral ‘Mr Hawk’ isn’t too quiet…he really thinks he is King of the yard, but he is not now our lovely 7 time winning stallion ‘Andorn’ has come home.
The mares are starting to return and next to come back will be Lady Chapp with her ‘Robin des Champs’ colt foal. At the Derby sale last week, an unbroken Robin des Champs 3 year old bay gelding made over £300,000. They are becoming pretty rare commodities and our foal has black type on the mares side all down her page – we will want to wrap him in cotton wool for three years until he goes to the Store Sales – unles someone would of course like to buy him and keep him with us to race – even better.
Marmot Bay and Epicurean are now out together at Dibble with their foals and gettng on fine. Pickworth is awaiting scanning to prolific stallion, ‘Midnight Legend’ at Pitchall Stud and will come back on the 10th of July, and Lady Chloe is staying in France for her foal to get all the French Premiums.
