We had a really enjoyable day at Doncaster Races yesterday and Julie thoroughly loved her whole experience raceriding, she was absolutely buzzing afterwards and wanted to do it all again! Quadriga is a big powerful horse but Julie   kept him under control as he powered to the start, and was quick not to let the leader get too far away from her in the race after the ‘walk in’ start.. She was the only one of the pack to keep tabs on him and had reduced the deficit to just half a length by the finishing post. It was such a close finish and  there was a lot of shouting going on from ‘Team Kirby’ by the rails, I am sure pool video, julie video, showout and cheshire videos 395you will all hear us on the video once I post it up! Julie smiling as she flashed past us, later saying she heard heard Phil shouting to pick up her stick! We all thought she looked really stylish and rode a great race… and this might just have given her the nudge to get her ladies Amateur Licence out – being so close made her even keener to get a win  on her CV. For 2nd place she won a pair of leather riding boots, but most of all the memories of her first ride will last a lifetime. Her parents were very proud as she was presented with her prize by Ryan Moore in front of the Grtandstand and Doncaster made it a special day for all involved in this first charity flat ‘staff’ race held there. Once back at the yard, Quadriga tucked into his topspec tea and we all headed out to the Wyvil Arms for a special celebratory meal followed by drinks at The Richard III pub in Midleham, where Juie received congratulations from her friends in the village.

Great team meal out.

Great team meal out.

We were very pleased with Quadriga also who loved this spin up the 7f, he is a very good looking 4 year old who we are offering for sale to stay on the yard this summer.  he has won three times already this year, and rated 69, he is excellent value at £8000 + vat.

Quadriga - in peak form and for sale to stay with us at £8k or may sell in 2x 50%

Quadriga was our first runner of the day but Perennial was also in the frame at Cartmel for Adam Nicol – he is a talented but frustrating horse who we have still to find the winning key for but he again finished in the placings and earned prize money for his Owners. He is also back safe and sound and we are determined to get another win on his form figures before the season is out.
