York Charity Race
Please support Sarah on her very worthy cause!
Sarah Huntridge is the British Dressage Regional Development Office for the Northern Region. Since January she has been in training for the Macmillan Charity race which take place on the 13th June 2015 at York race course, in front of 27 thousand people.
Sarah has a great amount of experience with horses having ridden all her life however she has never ridden a race horse until now. Selected for the charity race in December 2014 came as a surprise however Sarah is committed to the race and to raise £5000 for Macmillan. As part of the process Sarah had to find a local trainer to take her under their wing, who would be extremely generous and provide her with a horse for the race. She spoke to Chris Pedley who told Sarah to phone Philip Kirby, which she did in March. Rather nervous Sarah went to Phil’s yard and started to ride out with the team, she is now completely hooked! At the moment we don’t know which horse Sarah will ride in the race but having had a previous winner in the race Jawaab and Next Edition participated last year we have high hopes for Sarah J
“ I feel so privileged to have been given the chance to ride out at Phil’s, on the gallops at Middleham and ultimately in the
race. It is a strange feeling knowing that whilst I am having the best experience of my life I’m doing it for those less fortunate than me who are having to endure cancer. I hope my efforts to raise funds for Macmillan will help families in the future through these difficult times”
With only 2 months to go Sarah is busy riding out, training for her fitness test, fund raising and working.
