Sedgefield on Sunday
Currently second favourite and with his Catterick form boosted by Sandblast’s good 2nd at Newbury, Phil has a dilemma as he waits to see the ground report from Sedgefield today for Episode. Our new conditional, Hugo claims a valuable 10lbs off him, and he will really looking forward to this opportunity to try and make his rules debut a winning one, if all went to plan ( and thats not very often in this game) it could be a memorable day.
Phil has always held this horse in high regard, he is a half brother to Avidity and we bought his dam, Epicurean, in foal last year. As you can see, he is forward in his coat and working well but we have always felt he doesn’t want it too soft, Phil will be walking the track this afternoon before he decides if he can take his chance.
Last night we enjoyed the company of several of our Owners at a very good surprise party at Ellesmere Port, Jimmy McCinerny’s . There was a big crowd and it was great to catch up with them all – their horses Courtown Oscar and Aniknam run in the next seven days.
