Wednesday’s news
I took plenty of videos and photos up at the yard this morning, we will be showing
them all over the next couple of days . Gary Whillans was in to ride out (pictured above) , he comes twice a week now and lady amateur Cathy Walton also comes in on Thursdays. Gary is riding a very quick 2 year old who is well on target for his breeze up sales appearance but anyone wanting a nice 2 year old who really likes his work could do a lot worse than buy this lad privately, Phil loves him. For more details please email the address on the Castleton Bloodstock tab. The other equally nice 2 year old heading to the Breeze Ups for Castleton Bloodstock is this quality Archipenko colt. He closely resembles his Sire and does everything asked of him in an effortless manner.
Episode looked particularly well today, he is entered for Sedgefield on Sunday but no decision made yet. His coat was gleaming as Hugo rode him up to the gallops.
Phil gave 8x winner ‘Agglestone Rock’ a canter up the 7f again today, his legs are still cold and doing well but we have a long road to go down before he makes it back to the track. Aggie was exeptionally keen and didn’t look the nicest of rides but he definately retains all his old enthusiasm.
After third lot I watched Simon long reining Aggie’s 3 year old half sister ‘Roma’ – a full sister to Lowcarr Motion out of Royalty, 3 runners, 2 winners to date, and multiple winners at that. She is a well put together, neat individual with a good temperament and is FOR SALE at £5000, a nice future mares bumper/ hurdler, all the family jump well.
Our other three year old filly for sale is priced higher due to being by top stallion Flemensfirth (£10k stud fee) and out of a Auteil listed hurdle winner and dam of 4 winners to date. Phil bought her at Tatersalls Ireland and she heads to the DBS store sale for us to sell unless she is sold privately beforehand, we would of course love to keep her on the yard. £10k buys her but only for a limited period! She is big, scopey, moves well and if she was a gelding she would make £40k plus . A video of her will be posted tomorrow.
We may also split this mare into halves or quarters if those shares are requested, please email or call Phil or the office for further details. If staying with us She will be broken in the Spring and be turned away for the summer before back into work end of September for a January 2016 bumper debut if all to plan.
