Its 5.50 am and Phil is just leaving for Middleham, he and Adam need
to ride out before setting off for Haydock with Istimraar who runs in the first, the Victor Ludorum hurdle for juvenile’s. With only four runners he is in the mix for some decent prizemoney and although the top rated Nicky Henderson horse looks mile clear, a decent run from Istimraar might see him creep up the weights enough to get into the Fred Winter at Cheltenham, the object of the exercise today. I am Also looking forward to going, will be meeting the horsebox on the way and will be having a serious attempt at winning best turned out with him. He is a lovely horse and has really improved all winter.
Lady Chapp’s foal is due today, i am sure she won’t be so obliging to have him or her right on time, but its really nerve wracking anyway! Phil described it as waiting to hear how your 50,000-1 bet has got on and not being able to watch! There is a huge difference in value between a filly and a colt, but we will just be delighted to get a healthy foal after losing her Shirocco colt last year and so will Lady Chapp. Thats not to say we wont be holding a party if its a nice big strong bay colt…..hoping to update you soon.
It was a schooling morning on Thursday and The novices, Indalo Returns, Bruce Almighty and Can’t Believe It jumped well. Here is a birds eye view of them on their way to the hurdles.
Transient Bay has been having a few days hacking out at Dibble Bridge since he ran at Ayr, he will be back to proper work on Monday morning but he has enjoyed his mini break so far. We’ve also enjoyed having him here, even if everyone does need a step ladder to get on him.
Tomorrow its on to Market Rasen with Stopped Out and Sakhee’s City, smallish fields and both have good chances. More about them later with a update on the way back from Haydock.
Today we launch our new Partnership THE SHADES of GREY PARTNERSHIP, its Valentines Day of course, and the film premiered last night. We have had a good response with new Owners so far , and of course its not too late to join as this is a Partnership we will be promoting for a full year, the filly being a yearling and not to hit the track until next years flat season. The price to join will remain the same wether you join in 2015 or 2016, but joining sooner means you are an Owner with us and can enjoy visits whenever you wish, regular updates, newsletters, photos, videos and our Open Day later in the year.
