Philip Kirby Racing

Racehorse Trainer based at Richmond, North Yorkshire

Sunday 28th December

It’s a frosty morning at Castleton as Phil has set off to work, the Merc’s not good in ice so he will do well to get up some of the banks! It’s getting sold to get a 4×4 as soon as possible!  Today it’s Catterick with two in novice hurdle races, Cavalieri and Danehill Flyer.  Both horses need valuable hurdling experience and Cavalieri Looked green in the jumping department on his first run despite plenty of schooling at home. Danehill Flyer is fast and keen and Adam will be doing his best to get him settled early so he doesn’t run with the choke out. We want to see them finishing their races with improvement from their recent starts, safe clear rounds first and foremost.

Tomorrow we have two runners, the highly exciting Lady Buttons and in the same ownership, recent Southwell winner, Enzaal who us back there for another try to double up. Buttons  is about to be declared for Kelso and Phil is happy she is spot on now, the Wetherby run needs putting a line through, none of ours were quite right then. The danger is that it won’t be on, there’s a -2 frost forecast and it’s not set to warm up too much later on. Phil has has just reported back in to say he has driven the long way round and the roads  are horrendous, look at this photo!  James Reveley is meant to be coming to school Haydock possible  Aniknam this morning, but it may be too snowy. James was in red hot form  yesterday with two winners.
