Philip Kirby Racing

Racehorse Trainer based at Richmond, North Yorkshire

Sunday 28th September

No sleep in for us this morning as a number of raced and unraced bumper horses were taken to Ripon for 7.30am for an educational piece of work. Video below. Amongst these were Lady Buttons who is ready for a run over hurdles shortly.  One of our newest members of staff, Ross  Turner (who holds an amateur licence)  finished at the front of the pack but none of the horses were pushed and it was more for experience and to benefit them all from an outing before they go to the races.

Yesterday we had another second to add to our growing list, Pass Muster ran a good race at Market Rasen but mistakes at the last two flights might just have cost him momentum and the race. he still managed to beat the McCoy favourite but found the Peter Bowen horse just a length and a half too good on the day.  Sister Swing also ran creditably in a maiden at Ripon for 3rd, and both horses are fine after their races.

Owners: Hopefully you have all received your Sunday 19th October OWNERS DAY invitations in the post or by email  – please send an RSVP to the Office on sharphillowners@gmail.com or give Anna a call on 01969 624400  9am-2pm  so we can get a definite idea of numbers – we have a Hog Roast organised, horses will be paraded  and Phil will be talking about our NH prospects for the winter ahead – all we need is you all to come and the sun to shine.
