Friday at Fakenham

Firstly  some good news…Richie McGrath is recovering well in hospital following a bad fall at Hexham yesterday – he has a back injury but moving okay and all looks positive. A huge relief for his family and friends. Well done to Adam Nicol who won the last on Bop Along for Alan Smith at 9-1.

Factor Fifty ran a sound race yesterday and his jumping first time far exceeded our expectations, Richie gave him a lovely ride. he pulled hard early on and also did not like the tacky ground. he will come on for this and a step up to 2m 2/3f looks likely. He travelled with great enthusiasm throughout the race – a good 3rd  for The Topspec Partnership with this handsome young horse and beating a couple of fair performers in the process, just what we wanted.

pass muster smallThe box has set off for Fakenham with Pass Muster and Julie will have him immaculate for the 3.35, the Silver Cup handicap Hurdle. He has been well supported into 9/4 as we expected on this sound surface and with his good present form, but there has also been a significant plunge on the Flint trained ‘Grams and Ounces’ which is 10lb less than its last winning mark over hurdles and has been backed in this morning from 14’s into 5’s. Looks significantly dangerous. We also respect the chances of Fujin Dancer who has won this race in the past and also likes a sound surface. An exciting day ahead.

BOBS WORTH to win the Gold Cup! First Lieutenant to chase him home…..
