Friday’s News (and newsletter added)

For our owners benefit, the newsletter has been emailed out and is now on the private page.

Its a sunny afternoon at Doncaster and Phil will just be about ready to head to the paddock with Triple Eight, he runs in the 3.10 novice hurdle and hopefully he can get safely round and be given a handicap mark to contest novice handicaps this summer. He goes on any ground so will not mind this quicker surface we have today, and Adam has ridden him on his two previous starts. Its not the strongest of novice hurdles and if he on his game he just might be able to sneak a place although the Henderson horse looks rock solid. Winning novices is pretty difficult at any time of the year but they do get a bit easier from now on, particularly maidens.

Philip Kirby Racing has re-joined twitter, and if you fancy it you can follows some of Phil’s thoughts on the twitter account @pkrwinners it seems to be swiftly gaining followers…not sure quite how it all works yet but we’re learning.

Here is a photo of Elspeth’s Boy with Becky  who has had a few recent beach/ new gallop trips, he likes to do different things and keep fresh in between races…today he had an hour and a halfs hack out in the sunshine round the hills, we love being able to give some of our horses the variety if they can benefit from it.

imageAnd Stopped Out also enjoyed a brief visit to the North Yorkshire Moors before returning to Sharp hill and a possible Cheltenham handicap tilt.

Its all go from today as we have runners every day until next Thursday at least. We have been quiet but mainly because we have been avoiding the awful ground but the horses have been running really well.  Look out for the following in the next seven days:The horses in red are our first time out bumper runners.

Saturday – Doncaster Bedale Lane

Sunday – Sedgefield Ancient Times & Transient Bay

Sunday – Huntingdon Embsay Crag (Valuable Haydock qualifier)

Monday – Southwell Celtic Agent

TuesdaySouthwell AW – Brunello

Tuesday – Newcastle – Ardenlee Lad & Ustica

Wednesday – Catterick Rosie du Berlais Toola Boola

Thursday – Carlisle  Just Cameron

I can’t wait to see Transient Bay make his racecourse debut on Sunday at Sedgefield and will be making it a family day out. We will also be cheering Ancient Times on loudly in the 3m3f handicap chase, he is off bottom weight and has won round here in the past.
