What a disastrous trip to Wolverhampton – Phil has been stuck in jam packed traffic all day and they have not reached the track in time to declare – even though we always give ourselves three hours before the race. There must have been some accidents as Phil said he didn’t move for hours. This is the first time I can recall it happening to us – and hopefully the last! To top it all off they still won’t get home any earlier as now stuck in desperate Friday night rush hour traffic back.

Here is a video i made of first lot at Middleham on Tuesday – more to follow:

imageThis is Hail the Brave in the hood and an unnamed 5 year old ‘Bella’ who will be making her bumper debut shortly. Hail the Brave ran a race full of promise 1st time out (close 2nd at Carlisle) and we are looking forward to his imminent reappearance. Tow of our fillies have had their form franked this week :

Our Listed winning 2 year old ‘Lady Heidi’ beat the Godolphin colt ‘Safety Check ‘ by 2  3/4 lengths at Pontefract in October, that colt has just finished a half length 2nd in the UAE 2000 Guineas Trail at Meydan.

Our bumper winning filly ‘Lady Buttons’ (who got stuck in the mud at Cheltenham and quite understandably) beat the gelding ‘Diaktorus’ first time out by 1  3/4l , and this gelding has just been beaten 1 1/2 lengths in a 10 strong Newbury bumper giving the winner 5lbs – and they came 5 lengths clear of the third. Upheld the form nicely as Lady Buttons was always comfortably holding Diaktorus on debut.

We only have two horses entered at present – Iktiview at W’hampton on Monday and Rumble of Thunder at Catterick on Wednesday. This is a step up in trip for Rumble, he was one of our four timer at Newcasatle last Easter.
