Winner at Haydock!

FESTIVE WINNER!!

Congratulations to Owners Boretech Ltd & Sadler with Moscow Presents – our 16-1 winner of the first at Haydock ridden by Adam Nicol – a great positive ride and Moscow always looked to be enjoying himself.

Moscow put in a good round of jumping  and was always up with the leading trio.

imageimageimageThis was really encouraging – can lightening strike twice and top weight,Woodpole Academy score tomorrow at Haydock for the same Owner/Trainer/Jockey team? Attheraces have him priced up at 16-1, perhaps its a good omen!

We haven’t had many runners in December, and this is our second winner, but we have had some really nice performances from Stopped Out (a good 3rd at Newbury in a high class race on the 27th) Hail the Brave 2nd at Carlisle on his bumper debut, Brunello 2nd at Musselburgh, Matthew Riley 2nd in a very good race at Haydock….we are really looking forward to our runner on New Year Day – Lady Buttons in the bumper at Cheltenham, a winner on her debut at Wetherby early this month.

We have a particularly nice team of young horses, headed by Buttons, and youngsters soon to be making their debuts  in a bumper will be Bedale Lane, Libby Mae, Lowcarr Motion, Up the Bees, Transient Bay & Nik Nak. Others that have already ran and will be out again soon are Blondinthebar & Hail the Brave.

On a personal note i can’t wait to see Grey Command back out again on the track for his 50 Lady owners, he has been doing his final pieces of fast work and Kyle has been schooling him and all is going to plan. He has been off a fair time with hind leg problems but he seems completely over the issues and is hurdling well. He is pictured here with Nadine Field who always used to ride him. One of his race options is Sedgefield in mid January, he will be ten years old in a couple of days and we are keen to get him back to winning ways.

We are now also spending a lot of time deciding on stallions to send the broodmare band to in 2014. Its already decided that the Preesall Garage owned  ‘Royalty’ will visit Josr Algarhoud in an effort to produce another Agglestone Rock. She is expecting a foal to 2nd season sire, Native Ruler, a half brother to Sixties Icon by Cape Cross out of Oaks winner, Love Devine. It will be a full sister or brother to this strong, good looking filly foal retained by her former owners:

Royalty always makes us smile, all she does is eat and her head is never out of the haylage ring. She looks like she has three foals in there!

We really are excited about our broodmares, what will Pickworth and Lady Chapp produce to Shirocco? He has been a popular sire the last couple of years and they are selling well  – for flat and NH.  Hula Ballew is expecting a foal to 2nd season sire EQUIANO and he is a 20/20 match for her which suggests that this is a good chance of producing a  winner! Hula Ballew was rated in the high 80’s and won 9 races, we are considering the popular sire KODIAC for her who stands in Ireland at the Tally Ho stud.

Lady Chloe owned by the Wiggins family is also going in foal in the Spring, she is a winner on the flat and over hurdles and comes from a high class family. Chloe always showed a lot of class at home and at the races, and it was disappointing that injury cut short her career.
