Catterick Races – updated
Iktiview ran a very good race today for East View Thoroughbreds, travelling and jumping very well for Philip Dennis and just tiring in the last 100 yards – he had looked the winner at the last, his day looks to be round the corner with some luck. He may head to Market Rasen on Boxing day for a selling handicap.
Mrs Eff ran fine but got a bit tired in the last half mile, both horses are okay after their runs. Mrs Eff gave Kyle a hairy moment when jumping the practice hurdle unasked!!! She has tons of enthusiasm and is sure to be getting back into the winning groove this winter.
I am sure Kyle will love me for posting this photo! The commentators had some fun at his expense today, but i think they look pretty stylish.
Factor Fifty was schooled today along with Transient bay, War Lord, Triple Eight, Next Edition & Jawaab as lead horse (Phil rode him) . This wasFactor Fifty’s first time over a proper hurdle and he made a good shape over it, he will be ready to run as we go into the New year – a couple of weeks more schooling. he is a lovely prospect. ‘Stenna’ also jumped well, he is going the ‘right way’ according to Phil, Adam jumped him and he is getting more fluent every time.
We are all looking forward to our CHRISTMAS PARTY on Friday night in Middleham….our Castleton yard team are getting a mini bus to join in and I am sure we will all have a good night – a proper chance to celebrate the good year we have had in 2013, 61 winners to date and hopefully more to come before the turn of the year. I hope certain people don’t get as drunk as they did last year…you know who i mean!!!!!
Back at the home yard we have been re-schooling 2013 winner ‘Chloe’s Image’ who is now being directed into a different career – she is a 3 year old filly by Lucky Story. She is a potential high class show horse or a exciting young eventer with a lovely temperament .
I also think this video of Esk Valley Lady might now be working….
Earlier News…Half an hour to the first and Iktiview is set to run in the 2m 3f handicap hurdle at Catterick – Amateur jock Philip Dennis jocked up and the blinkers are back on today, hopefully it will bring about a revitalised performance, he is capable on his day although wouldn’t be the easiest ride, sure his regular pilot Kyle will have being telling Philip all about him. Just watching the pictures from the races and good to see our old mare Freedom Flying looking so well for Kyle’s dad, Russ James with his brother on board. She made a good comeback the other day and Phil thinks she is one of the ones to beat here. Iktiview also looks a picture walking round wearing his green blinkers – Sue is leading him up and looks like she has been very busy turning him out so beautifully.
Kyle is on board Mrs Eff in the 3 mile handicap hurdle, this is her seasonal reappearance and although she is a big burly mare she is going nicely at home, we are looking forward to seeing her in the new colours of Ingham Racing Services.
