Racehorse Trainer based at Richmond, North Yorkshire

Friday at Doncaster

Keith and Jayne Sivills purple and white silks will be in action today aboard KIWAYU in the 1m 6f event in the middle of the card. Their DBS purchase has run two decent races for us this season, and hopefully the step up in trip can see him back into the winners enclosure. He should handle the ground as he has won on good to soft and Mick O Connell rides.

We also have Triple Eight in the 1m2f at 4.50, This is Philip Dennis’s first ride for us and Triple should give him a good ride as he also handles cut well and has been consistent this season, he may be a few pounds higher than we would like in the handicap but Philip has a valuable claim in this event. Good luck to all connections today and hope the rain stays away this afternoon.

All to unload…

There has been much shuttling about of horses the last couple of days as  flat horses are finished for the season, some going home for the winter (Dr Irv, Just Paul, Eltheeb) some coming to Dibble (Cavaliereo, Chloe’s Image) and others on to Sharp Hill to step up their work (Tallulah, Lilly Mai, Khawatim, Blazeofenchantment). It was a busy day at Dibble Bridge yesterday with a huge waggon load of straw to unload  and the vets here for a while scanning. Platinum is on the sidelines for

a year as feared, but hopes are high that it is an injury that can make a full recovery given the time off. He will be coming back as an 8 year old so all is not lost.

We have been advertising for some new staff at Sharp Hill and the response has been tremendous so far. …at the end of this month we will be saying goodbye to Harriet Bethell who returns to work at Malton, and Nadine Field who is having a change of direction from racing, we wish them both the best of luck. It would be great if Harriet can leave on a winning note , riding her own Spin Cast tomorrow at Newbury in the Ladies Amateur event over 1m 4f. Spin Cast handles the soft ground and has been in good form this year so far with a win and a second for us.  Also tomorrow we have Money Team at Wolverhampton for Hardisty Rolls, this class 2 nursery looks competitive but he will appreciate the surface and ran with some promise on his latest start on ground softer than ideal.

pictured below is Keith and Jayne Sivills yearling ‘smartie’ out of Lady Chap by Westerner, a lovely filly.
