A 4 Timer for Special Rate!

Special Rate kicked off his season on Thursday how he ended his last! Ridden by Ross Chapman to take it up at the 12th for a smooth win by 14 lengths, we just hope the handicapper was looking the other way!!! A VERY impressive win to make it a total of 4 in a row for this lovely horse. It looks like he is on track for another good season ahead, huge well done to owner Rebecca Holmes and all involved.

Special Rate led up by Tally for her first day at the races with us – a winning one too…….plus a best turned out prize x2 for both runners, not a bad days racing!!!!

We have just had Peripeteia come painfully close at Chelmsford for owners The RedHotGurdogs, missing out by a neck.

Wednesday didn’t go quite so well up at Musselburgh as Martalindy sustained a nasty cut to her leg when unseating Ross at the second fence. She was treated by the vets at the course and luckily there is no tendon damage. Hopefully with a good rest she will be ok, but she will be given as long as she needs and there will be lots of TLC in the meantime from our team. Martalindy is one of our PKR Club horses so for those of you in the club there will be updates on her recovery posted on her FB page, along with the usual emails. An awful part of racing, but unfortunately it always comes with its risks – its been nice to see so many of you concerned for her and asking after her following the fall – thank you!

We had a schooling session at Middleham on Thursday morning for Bushypark (above) to put him spot on for his debut of the season tomorrow at Aintree. All went well of course and we cant wait to see him out again for his Green Oaks Partnership
