A very atmospheric picture captured early in the morning at Green Oaks by Denise, one of the few perks of the early starts with the racehorses is seeing the sunrise.

The pick of our runs this past week (besides Ben at Leopardstown on Sunday, see our last post!) would be Lone Star at Market Rasen on Tuesday. Following her rise in the weights for her lovely win last time out at Newcastle she put up a top effort with Joe Williamson again, missing out on a double by just 1 length to the David Pipe joint favourite. No runners this weekend, but looking forwards to next week we have our treble winner from last summer Red Force One’s seasonal debut at Catterick and Lone Star will possibly be out again on Tuesday up at Ayr.

We are very sad to say goodbye, or rather ‘see you later’ hopefully to Henry who has decided its time for pastures new. After by far the toughest year of his life in 2022 following a tragic family loss Henry understandable wants to find some fresh adventure. He will be sorely missed, not least by Simon who has had Henry as his deputy to stand in on the rare occasion he is away, helped with the management of the yard, a handy pilot in the schooling field, a trusted work rider and also amateur jockey with a win on Alsvinder amongst his rides for Phil. We are proud to have had him in our team and if our (Simon and Sarah’s) son Jack grows up to have half as much courage as Henry, i will be a very happy mum! You are not allowed to become a stranger! We all wish him the best of luck with all the future holds and the door is firmly open for a return should he ever wish to. A compilation of some of Henry’s time with us since 2017 by Pippa…..

On a lighter note Stargazer has been in VERY rude health recently, and Jody impressed us all with her stick-ability…….all with a smile on her face too!!!
