Winner & update

What a fantastic night we had for the PKR racing club at Sedgefield on Tuesday. Lead up by Katie ( winning her second BTO of the night) and ridden by Joe Williamson, 5 year old mare ’Green Oaks Top Cat’ stuck her head out in a determined fashion to record a second bumper win on just the second start of her career.

Phil has given this substantial Soldier of Fortune mare time to mature & come to herself, and as you can see from this short video of her taken today , she really couldn’t look in any better physical shape after her runs. She will have May, June & part of July out before returning to training and a novice hurdle career next season.

The whole winning experience was certainly special when shared with a good number of our Club members on the night, so many now firm friends! Sedgefield racecourse was wonderfully accommodating inviting everybody to celebrate the win with a glass of champagne and watch the replay in their Owners Room.

We would like to share just a couple of the Facebook posts and lovely messages we’ve had…

If You would like to join the PKR Racing Club, it is never too late and you will have two super National Hunt mares to look forward to in the autumn. It’s just £69 per person to join, please email clubpkr@hotmail.com to receive details how to join and then you will receive your welcome pack and access to the private facebook page. We have 2 planned Open Mornings this Summer & its a great way to see our horses, meet the team, the extra treat of seeing the mares and foals in our top paddocks – and meet lots of likeminded people. Refreshments on site – confirmation of dates to follow.

We also had MARTALINDY running for the PKR Club at Ayr and she was travelling well when brought down at the last hurdle. This was her jumping debut, and she looked as though the second place position would have been hers had she not hit the deck. Luckily both Tommy and The mare were ok. Tommy also rode Hope Eden Racing’s EN MEME TEMPS for 4th place in the Handicap Chase . We had another 4th at Sedge with CLEAN GETAWAY in the Novice Hurdle.
