New Year update, finally!

Well done FIRCOMBE HALL – he became our first winner of 2022 with a super cool ride from Graham Lee at Newcastle. Top Cat approves of a ginger winner, and he’s a really tough and consistent little horse, homebred by Ace Bloodstock & Owned by The Redhotgardogs.

Apologies website readers, I have been guilty of updating the Facebook page, and not updating our website regularly enough. I find it so easy to post onto Facebook, it is a much more long winded process loading up videos and photographs here, but I appreciate not everybody is on Facebook, although if you enjoy following our yard I would urge you to even just register for Facebook just so that you can view our excellent page! You can be anonymous by giving a pretend profile name and of course you only need to visit our pages if you wish, not post anything. if you are an Owner of a PKR Partnership horse or a Member of our Club, each horse has its own facebook page. If you are looking for the PKR page it looks like this…its basically just like our website but full of everyday news, views & videos. Play to get a quick demo of what has been added the last few days…

We do try to post plenty of new photographs and videos on it most days. We also have a excellent Twitter account that Meg runs, but I cannot claim to use Twitter so no instructions from me here 😆

So Happy New Year to you all, we are fired up here for another year of competitive racing & lets hope we have a live Grand National runner in our talented Top Ville Ben – he has so far only taken part in a ’virtual’ National. Ben ran an excellent race on Boxing Day at Wetherby, here is a short video of his excellent third with some unseen ’behind the scenes’ saddling up moments .

2022 has also seen Queen of the yard ‘Lady Buttons’ back into work for a different career – she is so versatile we’re sure she will enjoy & excell in many jobs, some dressage & showing is planned initially.

This video is just her 3rd day back into ridden work…

Today we have the one runner, Tommaso in the Juvenile Hurdle at Wetherby at 12.50 for Mrs Joyce Porter. Tommy rides & we wish them the best of luck & safe return. This is a nice photo of them at Market Rasen in the paddock.

This time of year our attention also includes keeping a keen eye on the broodmares, we have several Owners who have decided to breed from their race mares, and there are 10 foals expected that will hopefully be in the Paddocks at Green Oaks this summer…..Lady Westerner , Helen Wood, Musikhani, Kerala, Rayna’s World, Marmot Bay, Two Thirtyeat, Lady Kyria, Air of Freedom & Skid. Lady Chloe has had a year off but she will go in foal this year alongside the maiden mares, Dares to Dream & Fille d’Avignon, & possibly Another Theatre. The first foal due is to SKID at the end of January 🤞🏻Decisions for stallions are currently being made and we have decided so far to send Helen Wood & Lady Westerner to new grey NH stallion, LOGICIAN. If you would like to get involved in breeding Ownership at a very affordable rate do consider getting involved with either a jumps foal – we have Lady Westerner due to Order of St George or Hope Eden Racing has a flat foal due to their winning mare, Lady Kyria. See our for sale page for full details.

We will round off today’s post with a video of the ‘class of 2020 ‘ playing with a Christmas toy, now officially 2 year olds they are certainly not too old to play!
