Top Ville Ben & Tommy

TOP VILLE BEN & Tommy Dowson line up today for The Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby & the hopes of the North will be riding every fence with them. Its a very tough ask after a long time off chasing due to him missing last season, but he came in good & early and Phil has him as fit as he can for his first outing of the season. Ben raised the roof when winning here on Boxing Day 2020 and that was a brilliant performance – he’d have to be better again today which is a huge ask, but a good run and a sound round of jumping would set him up for a tilt at The Becher Chase. Best of luck to them both and their Owners who are at Wetherby watching today 🍀🤞🏻We also have winning mare Another Theatre here at the Yorkshire track and expect her to have come on for her first run back. She is a funny mare and either fancies it or she doesn’t, but when she is on song she is capable of a bold show.

At Musselburgh we have our homebred mare MARTALINDY making her racecourse debut in a 5 runner Newcomers bumper for The Philip Kirby Racing Club. They all look well bred on paper and she is the only mare. Joe has ridden her all Autumn & built up a good p’ship with her, he rode her round Pontefract recently in a racecourse gallop and she took the experience well. There’s no telling how good any of these are so we will just hope she performs with promise & hope for the future. Simon has taken Doussard, Little India & Busby to Wolverhampton, the first two mares are coming off the back of a break & we would expect our recent Kempton winner BUSBY to be our best chance of an all weather winner today. Safe passage for all our horses & jockeys and looking forward to a good day’s racing 🍀🐎
