Catch up weekend, winning news & Catterick races

Today we have Hope Eden Racing’s ‘AQUISITOR’ back at the scene of his last start, let’s hope that he remembers how to get his head back in front again and we can celebrate another winner ahead of the big match kick off tonight. We have discovered that our daughter Indy is not just a massive racing fan but gets just as excited watching the football! Aquisitor looks really well and had an excellent draw in 1 so we’d like to think he can put up another bold show under Billy Garritty.

Sunday saw a massive day for us with ALSVINDER winning at Ayr to make it a first win for our Pupil Assistant and Amateur Jockey, Henry Newcombe. Henry had Alsvinder in a lovely position up front and despite being briefly headed in the last furlong, the pair of them fought back by the line to win by a nose. We share his Ownership with some good friends and it was a fantastic day all round to see this gorgeous stallion back in the top spot. He is going to have a sport horse stallion career with us once his racing days are over, and he will continue to be cared for by Katie who is his biggest fan and regular partner at home. Let’s good there a few more wins to come first though…

The previous day we had opened our doors to our first PKR Club Morning and we had visitors from far and wide, all being really thoughtful with their masks when in the barns, and stretching out along the grass gallop to watch the horses in action. We have had some amazing feedback on the Facebook page and by email, and we are looking forward to our second one being hopefully drier in September! We saw lots of familiar faces and many new ones too, our Team enjoyed the challenge of making sure the yard and horses looked amazing. Victor had been so busy with the flowers and tubs and I can honestly say that Green Oaks has never looked better, even with the grey skies! I will be bringing photos shortly of how good it looks now the sun is shining! We had our first PKR shop with merchandise and Megan sold some beautiful mounted photos & canvasses.

Just a small number of the really kind comments on our PKR Club page which has been flooded with some excellent photos of the morning…

After the yard parade & gallops action we had a wet but enjoyable tour of the fields…
