Friday at Redcar & Miscarlett wins
We all celebrated on Wednesday with a long overdue win for Miscarlett in Joyce Porters mauve & purple colours. Second time out following a wind op is said to be the time to catch them right, and the mare won in great style for champion jockey Brian Hughes, who got on so well with her when he rode her at Hexham that we kept the Partnership together. Miscarlett has been unlucky not to win for us under both codes and has posted many good places efforts but it all came together on Thursday and Phil took champagne & strawberries round to Joyce’s later on so that they could celebrate the win in style. Victor planted flowers in Joyce’s colours for some luck this summer and it seems to have worked 😊
Here are the closing stages of her 6 length win…
Yesterday we had Little India 5th at Ripon for Hope Eden Racing, she has been consistent all winter on the AW and just needs a bit of help from the handicapper to get back to winning ways. Their winning mare ‘Lady Kyria’ returned to us a couple of days ago, scanned in foal to Muharrar, and rather like we are creating the new ‘First Steps’ Partnership, Hope Eden are also going to be providing a ‘From Day One ‘ Pship that can bring Owners the excitement of being on from the very start. This will be updated shortly on our for sale page.
We have Everett & Willing to Please at Redcar today – Everett needs a handicap mark to be competitive but he ran well enough in this maiden company – ‘Wiling to Please’ has a sound chance for her new Partnership in the 3.15, 2nd on 3 career starts so far, she is priced around 6-1 in the claimer for Billy Garritty – there are already a couple of non runners due to the very quick ground. Safe return for our two runners today 🍀
We are looking forward to the arrival of our new Presenting 3 year old on Monday – she has been named Glamorous Icon by the first Owners to join her Partnership & it’s a good name for this daughter of twice winning ‘Vic Chic’ by Old Vic – she has a real mares staying pedigree. What a team of young mares we have for next season! First Glory, Ravenscar, Caooime Lady, Lady’s Present, Martalindy, Mayway, Green Oaks Top Cat, Midnight Legacy, Big Ears, Galaxy Dancer to name a few, and that’s without the more established winners…
It’s been up in the air wether new horse ‘Skycutter’ gets in at Ascot tomorrow, he is one of the reserves and would enjoy the rain softened ground so it’s been frustrating waiting to see what will happen. One non- runner so far. It’s not quite Ascot but we also have Juriste in at Redcar tomorrow, unless the rain arrives significantly he won’t be running as it’s too quick at present.
And finally we revisit the past for our final video – so many have enjoyed seeing Lady Chloe & her foals over the years, we have some lovely offspring to run in future for her including the latest Milan filly, Desi – here is Lady Chloe herself winning for us on the flat. She won her first race over hurdles but sadly her career was over following an injury on her next start. She had so much untapped potential but hopefully it will continue to shine through in her offspring, her first foal was much missed dual winner, Lord Roccoco 💙
Bottom right we have now introduced yearling ‘Boris’ as a Partnership horse, details of which can be found on our for sale page. Who can forget him with Norah Batty his foster mare last year! There will be a vote for his racing name once his Partnership has filled.
